Wedding Day, July 1 2000   See Pictures of Us Growing Up!

How we met:

We first met August 1995 during our first year at Northern Illinois University, when Dan was a freshman and Christina was a Junior. We starting dating that following May, got married July 1, 2000 after Dan graduated from NIU in May, and moved to Pensacola September 2000.

A Pre-Dating Memory by Christina: Dan was sitting in the dorm study room hunched over his books wearing a t-shirt with a large Goofy cartoon character face on it. As I was walking by, I was intrigued. When I went inside the room, there were some very long rolls of construction paper rolled up on the floor. I grabbed one of the rolls and hit him with it. I don't know why I did that, I just had the urge... It's a good ice-breaker I guess!. Then I asked him if he wanted to join me and a bunch of people hanging out in my dorm room. He said "Sure".

A Pre-Dating Memory by Dan: I was visiting Christina and her best friend/roommate Amber (who I happened to meet and become friends with prior to meeting Christina) and I may have been drinking, a common past time for me during my college years.  It was getting late, and they wanted to go to sleep, but I, being slightly inebriated, didn't get the hint.  They decided since I wasn't going to leave that I would have to stay, so they tied me up with scarves so I couldn't leave.  They bound my wrists, ankles and knees together.  I managed to get to my feet, hop out the door like a rabbit and make it down the hall to the bathrooms (half the length of the building!).  When I got there, someone I knew was coming out of the ladies room.  I asked her to untie me - her matter-of-fact response: "You've been drinking again, haven't you?"  She left me laying on the floor and went back to her room. Luckily Christina and her roommate came to get me and untied me.  They were hysterical, which was bad since it was 2:00AM on a weekday and we were in mandatory quiet hours! Needless to say, some of the other residents did not find it so funny and reported us to the RA. However, the outcome of that is another story.
