| We first met (or so we later found out) in August 1995 at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. Dan was a freshman and Christina was a Junior. We were both living in Douglas Hall - Christina's dorm room was a floor above Dan's. Since both were Honors floors, the residents on both floors spent a lot of time together. Apparently, we had numerous mutual friends and attended many of the same events, but were not aware of one another until the spring of 1996. So it definitely wasn't love at first sight! Once we were made aware of one another's existence, we were pretty much inseparable and starting officially dating that May. Christina graduated from NIU in December of 1997 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. Dan graduated in May of 2000 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. We got married two months later on July 1, 2000 at an outdoor ceremony at the Midlane Country Club in Wadsworth, FL. We moved to Pensacola, FL a day after coming back from our honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico. A lot of people ask us why we moved to Pensacola. Christina was born and raised on the coast of South Carolina and always wanted to move back to the south - where it was warm, sunny, and near the water. Dan wanted to leave Illinois as he had lived in the same town, Rockford, his entire life. Originally, our plans were to move to South Carolina after we both graduated college. Dan's best friend, Bobby, said that he and his wife Donna were planning on moving soon to where he was born and raised, Pensacola. Hmmm, Pensacola was warm, sunny, and on the water... A 7 day trip in December of 2000 confirmed we were now going to move to Pensacola after we got married! Now we just had to find jobs and start looking for a house! This Page in Under Construction. Come back soon! |
